Artist description
Three (now two) musically codependent friends in many lifetimes of group
therapy. Our karma was to eek sound out of every frictionable surface in the
living room, kitchen and bathroom. We often were forced to commit these acts in
front of unsuspecting visitors in a hostile electric environment with no shoes
on, rolling a 79¢ Beau Monde tape in a bottom-of-the-line $49 cassette deck.
Bob quickly bored of his pricey, hi-tech drum pads and found fulfillment in
assaulting discarded vibraslaps and New Year's party toys. Gordon finally
stopped trying to sound like Rick Wakeman. Tom became Bunny in a dream, and
became a cassette tape surgeon in real life. |

Artist History
Bob's Toyota got totalled up an Avenue B telephone pole by a drunk in a
Chevrolet, who was trying to get lap service from a local hooker. (Cell phones
were years away.) Bob got full book value for the scraps, then bought a
Memorymoog for his new primary means of transport. That meant that Gordon
couldn't commute to rehearsals with his New Jersey band any more. So he started
hanging around the apartment looking forlorn and being annoying, until Bob
agreed to let him bring his Prophet around and make some noise of his own. Tom,
who was prone to religious-slash-chemical delusions, stopped praying to his
Nina Hagen 10-inch single of "African Reggae," and took up genuflecting to the
mixer. We wanted that pingpong effect between two speakers, but we couldn't
afford any more equipment so we taught Tom ventriloquism and how to sound like
our synths (he always did the Moog much better). We eventually took pity on his
larynx and bought him a couple of digital delays to play with. To this day he
feels lost without the MXR. |
